Sarasa slipped into the empty owlery, instantly Phanindra fluttered down to her shoulder.

"I haven't any letters for you to carry today." Sarasa spoke in owl tongue.
"घ मोललदू हल्ाीेूोल्." responded Phanindra.
Sarasa felt stupid for not talking to her owl in Hindi, then attempted again.
"घ पोनालटू ोलब ताूूाीे िदी बदह ूद मोीीब." said Sarasa.
"ळदू ानाल ूद बदही सदूपाीय़" [Not even to your mother?] asked Phanindra.
"ळद, लदू ूद्ोब." [No, not today]
"ूपाल ैपब ोीा बदह पाीाय़" [Then why are you here?]
"ेदसाूपगलु ैीदलु ैगूप ैोलूगलु ूद मपोू ैगूप सब दैतय़" [Is anything wrong with coming to chat with my owl?]
"धि मदहीेा लदू." [Of course not]
"उदद्. भदह दहुपू ूद ताोील आलुतगेप, बदह कलदै." [Good. You ought to learn English] said Sarasa.

Sarasa smiled at the 2nd year as her owl flew back up to the rafters. Stingy much Sarsa thought. "Hello." said Sarasa softly.
